Processing international payments

Important notes about processing international payments with PaymentsPlus.

  • Unless you have made alternative arrangements with Westpac, the exchange rate that is applicable to your payments will depend on the day the transaction is processed. The daily rate is available here. Foreign exchange rates are updated daily and are available from 8:00am AEST.
  • Other banks may convert the proceeds and impose additional fees and charges. For further information, please contact us on 131 032 (option 5), Monday to Friday 8:00am - 6pm AEST. For USD payments, the intermediary bank may deduct USD$5 from the payment. Please contact the beneficiary to find out if other charges will also apply.
  • Once a file is authorised, payments will typically be processed within 1-3 business days but can sometimes take longer.
Westpac Privacy Statement

Privacy Statement (for individuals whose personal information may be collected - in this clause referred to as "you"). All personal information we collect about you is collected, used and disclosed by us in accordance with our Privacy Statement which is available at Privacy Statement or by calling us through your relationship manager or Westpac representative. Our Privacy Statement also provides information about how you can access and correct your personal information and make a complaint. You do not have to provide us with any personal information but, if you don't, we may not be able to process an application or a request for a product or service.
